Southern California Flat Track Association: Let It Slide

By Rodney Rutherford

Welcome to “Let It Slide”, the pre-round wake up call as Southern California Flat Track Association (SCFTA) prepares to lay it out, for the first round of their 2015 twelve round Championship series. Rain delayed the beginning race of the 2015 season in February, moving round one to March 28th, this Saturday..

The postponement will give the 2015 season three weekends of back to back racing, instead of the originally scheduled two double-headers. We now have three times the fun camping out an extra weekend and even saving gas money for those coming from a far. The double dose of fun will be rounds two and three on April 18th and 19th, rounds five and six (round six is the make up for round one) on June 20th and 21st. The traditional “let it all hang out” festive double rounder on November 7th and 8th, closing out the series with rounds eleven and twelve respectively.

#19 Frank Aragaki, #77 Paul Herman, #88B David Bush, #44S Robert Bush, and #70 Jim Lundgren (2)

Creating memories today, SCFTA image from the old Perris Raceway track circa 2010. Frank Aragaki #19, Paul Herman #77, David Bush #88B, Robert Bush #44S, and Jim Lundgren #70.

For round one gates open at 11:00 A.M., practice at 3:00 P.M., with racing to follow. The weather forecast is for a high of eighty-nine degrees, so get yourself watered up prior to the event and ready for a warm and sunny day. The night low is looking to be fifty-six degrees according to those guys with the fancy college diplomas and all that expensive equipment. Which translates to; we have great weather for the weekend. Hope to see everyone there.

    1. Hey Marc! So very sorry for the extreme delay in getting this answered. You may have gotten an answer by now, but for any others who have the same question, I have gone to the source, the folks at SCFTA and will post a specific answer very soon!
