Starwest MX Park: Let There Be Lights

On Wednesday, April 1, there will be lights on the Main track at Starwest MX Park ending a long spell without lights. The pits will open at 3:00 P.M. and the track will giving the green light for practice at 4:00P.M.. The day will be a celebratory affair with selected Monster Energy riders on hand to join the festivities. Now for the bright details:

After experiencing a transformer issue with their lighting system several months ago, Starwest, located at the southeastern end of the Lake Perris Fairgrounds has the problem resolved. With lights installed and functioning on the Mini track, which plays host to the Moto X Kidz racing program. The Starwest crew went to work on the Main track.

The lights are 1000 watt, and a total of approximately sixty different lights will be mounted on twelve to fourteen poles. They will be positioned to surround the track as well as placed in the center of the track, and there will also be lights as well installed in the pits.

The schedule for night riding after Wednesday, will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday form 3:30 P.M. to 9 P.M.. The normal schedule already in place will continue to be the same, this includes the Monday night riding for Vintage, Vets and Minis, please confirm all schedules at the Starwest website listed below.

This is another forward step for the leased Starwest MX venue of Marc Peters, owner of Petersbuilt Tracks Incorporated. Peters has recently ended his run at the “The Ranch”, and moved the remainder of his equipment to Starwest, and Lake Elsinore which he is currently operating as well. This is on top of his duties running his Petersbuilt track building company as he continues to be a force and in demand on the Southern California, National, and International moto scene with his superior track sculpting expertise.

Continental Motosports Club (CMC) Principal and Father of Marc Peters, Stu Peters, aids his busy son by overseeing the operations. Starwest currently has the Amateur Motorcyclist Association’s (AMA) Amateur National Championship Southwest Area Qualifier scheduled for this weekend, March 28TH and 29TH, at Starwest. CMC’s Stu Peters is currently evaluating race schedules for the future involving his historic racing organization as well.
