As the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross makes it’s Rd. 14 visit to The Dome at America’s Center (formerly the Edward Jones Dome) in St. Louis, The Legends and Heroes 2016 Supercross Moto Museum Tour will pay a special tribute to international racing great Chuck Sun.

Born September 10, 1956 in Sherwood, OR Chuck Sun began riding and racing as a youngster near his home. In the 1970s he’d joined the pro ranks and by 1980 was well on his way to fame by capturing the AMA 500cc national motocross championship. In 1981, Chuck was selected along with Donny Hansen, Johnny O’Mara and Danny LaPorte to represent the United States as a member of first ever US team to win the Motocross des Nations.

Sun is the only Asian American to win a national pro motorcycle championship in American racing. In 2003, he was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

“Winning a Supercross and finishing on the podium is one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had.” – Chuck Sun

Today, Chuck is an active motorcycle enthusiast logging thousands of miles each year on all types of machines. Competitive fires burns hotter than ever so it’s not unusual to see him flying around a motocross track, on the single-track trails of Colorado or leading a group ride across the Nevada desert on a tricked out exotic Italian TM 300. When not on a motorcycle Chuck works with Needham Reality in Boulder City, Nevada.

“Chuck Sun is a class act and a true champion who has continued to represent our sport well.” Says Alex Moroz General Managing Partner for the Legends and Heroes Tour.

Chuck Sun will be presented the coveted Legends and Heroes Award by 6-time AMA champion Broc Glover on the Monster Energy Supercross podium Saturday evening.
