Desert Classic Win Eludes Jason Coleman In Laughlin

Jason Coleman and his Coleman Motorsports team were out front setting a fast pace on lap one of the Best In The Desert series Laughlin Desert Classic in Laughlin, Nevada. His Radar Tires, Method Race Wheels, and King Shocks were working in unison to keep Jason out front in the sandy and sometimes rocky terrain found in Laughlin. It was a beautiful day on the Colorado River with blue skies, a slight breeze, and a temperature around 80 degrees; well below the scorching heat of a Laughlin summer. Despite the temperate conditions, Jason’s engine temperatures were climbing. On lap two, the car was still running strong but the gauges confirmed there was a concern. Before they could start lap three, the engine went into limp mode. He called it into the crew on his Rugged Radio but they didn’t even get a chance to attempt repairs. As Jason pulled into the hot pits, the engine stalled, and then expired. The unexpected failure ended Coleman Motorsports’ goal of winning another race in Laughlin.

“I don’t know what else to say other than it’s extremely disappointing,” said Jason, “We felt strong and were confident that we had a car able to compete for the win. I love racing in Laughlin and despite the outcome, we really enjoyed our time there. We can’t thank everyone who supports us enough however, a win this weekend just wasn’t in the cards for us. We’ll have to put this behind us and move forward getting prepared for our next challenge, Vegas to Reno.”

Coleman Motorsports’ achievements in the demanding sport of off-road racing are due to their tireless work on and off the course, and the many sponsors that provide support. Radar Tires, Golden Construction, Christian Belle Electric, Sunbelt Flooring, Avalon Fire Protection, Millers Woodworking, Universal Metro, Twin Steps Architecture, Lunas Plumbing, Rugged Radios, Baja Designs, Method Race Wheels, Jamar, LAT Racing Oils, VP Racing Fuels, McKenzie’s, Laughlin Tourism Commission, and SignPros are all vital to the team’s continued success. Their next test will be the longest off-road race in the United States, Vegas to Reno on August 17, 18, 19, 20.
